What is Callbreak Quick?

A South Asian classic reimagined for competitive online play — fast, strategic, and deeply familiar to millions of Bangladeshi players.

Callbreak — known locally as Call Bridge or Lakdi in different parts of Bangladesh — is a four-player trick-taking card game played with a standard 52-card deck. Every player competes individually (there are no teams), and the goal is simple: accurately predict how many tricks you will win before the hand is dealt, then deliver exactly that number or more.

The Quick format at newpklack compresses a traditional five-round session into faster, tighter gameplay with streamlined betting intervals. Instead of lengthy evening sessions around a physical table in Mirpur or Old Dhaka, you can complete a full competitive match in under 20 minutes on your phone during a commute or lunch break. The core skill ceiling — bidding accuracy, card counting, spade management — remains completely intact.

newpklack's Callbreak Quick lobby matches you against three real opponents drawn from a pool of registered players across Bangladesh. Automated dealing, a real-time score tracker, and a built-in chat system replicate the social texture of a physical game without requiring everyone to sit in the same room. Minimum stakes start at just ৳10 per game, making it accessible regardless of your budget in Dhaka or Rajshahi.

18+ Only. Callbreak Quick on newpklack is a real-money card game available exclusively to adults aged 18 and above. Please play within your means and use our responsible gaming tools if needed.

Game Rules & Objective

Understanding the core rules is the foundation of every strong Callbreak performance. Here is a complete plain-English walkthrough of how a game is structured on newpklack.

1
Deal & Bid

At the start of each round, 13 cards are dealt to each of the four players. After reviewing their hand, every player announces their bid — the minimum number of tricks they commit to winning in that round. Bids must be a whole number between 1 and 13. You cannot bid zero.

2
Spades as Trump

Spades (♠) are always the trump suit in Callbreak — fixed from the very first deal and unchanged for the entire game. Any spade card beats any card of any other suit, regardless of face value. A 2♠ beats an Ace of hearts every single time. This fixed trump mechanic is what separates Callbreak strategy from other trick-taking games.

3
Playing Tricks

The player to the left of the dealer leads the first trick by playing any card. Other players must follow suit if they hold a card of that suit. If they cannot follow suit, they must play a spade if they hold one. Only if they hold neither a card of the led suit nor a spade can they play any other card — but that card cannot win the trick.

4
Winning a Trick

The trick is won by the highest spade played, or — if no spade was played — by the highest card of the suit that was led. The winner of each trick leads the next one. After all 13 tricks are played, the round ends and scores are calculated.

5
Scoring

If you win at least as many tricks as your bid, you score your bid as points (e.g., bid 4, win 5 → score 4.1). Each extra trick above your bid adds 0.1 to your score. If you fail to reach your bid, you lose your bid as a penalty (e.g., bid 4, win 3 → score −4). After five rounds the player with the highest cumulative score wins the pot.

Fixed Trump: Spades

No trump selection phase. Spades beat every other suit in every round from start to finish. Manage your spade hand carefully — running out of spades too early is a common beginner mistake.

Strictly Individual

There are no partners, no teams. Each of the four players competes entirely on their own. Alliances sometimes form tactically mid-game, but scoring is always individual.

Bid Accuracy Wins

Overbidding is almost as dangerous as underbidding. A player who bids 8 tricks and wins 10 scores only 8.2 — while a penalty of −8 for missing by one trick can be tournament-ending.

Quick Format Rules

newpklack's Quick variant introduces a per-player turn timer (30 seconds on standard tables, 15 seconds on speed tables). Running out of time triggers an automatic card play — lowest legal card in hand.

Quick Tip: The 0.1 bonus per overtrick adds up faster than most beginners expect. A player who consistently wins one or two tricks above their bid across five rounds can outscore a more aggressive bidder who occasionally faces penalties.

Card & Hand Rankings

Cards rank the same way as in most Western card games, with one critical regional note: in many Bangladeshi Callbreak variants the Ace ranks below the King within non-trump suits for trick-taking purposes. newpklack follows the standard international ranking where Ace is highest.

Rank Card Notes
1st A♠ Ace of Spades Highest card in the entire game. Cannot be beaten by any card.
2nd K♠ King of Spades Beaten only by A♠. Beats any non-spade card.
3rd Q♠ Queen of Spades Third strongest card overall. Very strong trump.
4th J♠ Jack of Spades High trump. Excellent for winning critical tricks.
5th–14th 10♠ → 2♠ Remaining spades rank 10 down to 2. Each beats any non-spade.
15th A♥ / A♦ / A♣ Highest non-trump cards. Win tricks only if no spade is played and they are of the led suit.
→ Low K → 2 (non-spade) Non-trump cards rank King down to 2. Lose to any spade regardless of face value.

Why spade management is everything: Because spades always trump, the distribution of spades in your hand is the single biggest determinant of how many tricks you can reliably win. A hand with five or more spades is typically a strong bidding hand. A hand with zero spades requires very careful play — you will be forced to play low-ranking non-trump cards into tricks where opponents can and will trump you.

High non-trump cards are often worth less than they look: Holding A♥ and K♥ might seem like two guaranteed tricks, but if another player is void in hearts they can trump both with even a 2♠. This is why experienced players at newpklack's tables in the Dhaka player pool bid more conservatively on non-spade-heavy hands than newcomers typically expect.

Counting played spades: Tracking how many spades have been played — and by whom — is the primary skill separating intermediate players from strong ones. newpklack's interface displays a played-cards sidebar that makes this tracking significantly easier than in a physical game.

Winning Strategy Tips for Callbreak Quick

Callbreak rewards calculated risk-taking and disciplined card play over luck. These eight principles are the foundation of strong, consistent performance at newpklack's tables.

01
Bid Conservatively on Weak Hands

A hand with only one or two spades and no high non-trump cards is rarely worth bidding above 2. The penalty for under-delivering is twice as painful as the reward for exceeding your bid by one or two tricks. When in doubt, bid lower.

02
Lead Strong Suits Early

When you hold four or more cards of a non-spade suit, lead that suit early to force opponents to either follow along or reveal they are void. Discovering voids in opponents' hands early gives you crucial information for the second half of the round.

03
Save High Spades for Critical Moments

Resist the temptation to play your Ace or King of spades in the first few tricks unless the lead card threatens a trick you genuinely need. High spades are most valuable in the final three or four tricks when the board position is clearer.

04
Track Remaining Spades

Use newpklack's played-cards display to count how many spades remain unplayed. Once high spades are gone, even a 3♠ or 4♠ becomes a trick-winner. Knowing the trump landscape late in a round is a decisive edge over inattentive opponents.

05
Disrupt Dangerous Opponents

If one opponent is clearly on track to hit a large bid and extend their score lead, it is sometimes worth sacrificing a small trick of your own to lead a suit you know will be trumped by another player — breaking up the dangerous opponent's flow.

06
Manage Overtricks Across Rounds

Overtricks accumulate as 0.1 bonuses, which matter in close final standings. In Quick format games, a difference of 0.3 or 0.4 points can separate first and second place. Do not discard overtricks casually — they are legitimate points.

07
Adjust Bids to Table Position

Bidding last (or close to last) is an advantage — you have already seen other players' bids and can gauge how many tricks remain realistically available. Use position information to calibrate slightly more aggressive bids when the table has bid low overall.

08
Stay Calm Under the Timer

The 30-second turn timer in Quick format is designed to maintain pace, but panic plays — especially early discards of valuable spades — are a leading cause of missed bids. Take a breath, quickly scan the board state, then play. Speed matters less than correctness.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions from newpklack players about Callbreak Quick — rules, payments, accounts, and responsible gaming.

Yes. newpklack's Callbreak Quick lobby is open 24 hours a day, every day of the year including public holidays. Tables at the Casual and Standard stake levels typically have players available at all hours. High Stakes and VIP rooms see peak activity between 20:00 and 01:00 BST when the largest number of Bangladeshi players are online simultaneously.

newpklack offers a Practice Mode for Callbreak Quick where newly registered players can complete up to 10 free games against simulated opponents to learn the interface and scoring system before committing real ৳. Practice Mode games do not appear in your official statistics and do not contribute to tournament qualification. To access live tables with real opponents, a minimum deposit of ৳100 is required.

If you disconnect during an active Callbreak Quick game, newpklack's server holds your seat for up to 60 seconds while the auto-play system makes the lowest legal card play on your behalf each turn. If you reconnect within 60 seconds, you regain full control of your hand. If the disconnection lasts longer, the system continues auto-playing your remaining cards and the game concludes normally. Your final score — positive or negative — is applied regardless of connectivity. We recommend playing on a stable Wi-Fi or 4G connection to avoid this situation.

Withdrawal requests submitted to your bKash wallet are processed by newpklack's finance team within one to four hours during standard business hours (09:00–21:00 BST, seven days a week). Requests submitted outside these hours are queued and processed at the opening of the next business window. The bKash network itself typically credits the funds within seconds of the transfer being initiated by newpklack. You will receive an SMS confirmation from bKash once the transfer completes.

Yes. In newpklack's standard Callbreak Quick ruleset, every player must bid at least 1 trick per round. A zero bid is not permitted. This rule exists to prevent defensive play strategies where a player might bid zero to avoid penalty risk entirely. The minimum bid of 1 ensures every player is committing to genuine participation in each round, keeping the game competitive and the pace brisk.

Tournaments are listed in the Promotions and Tournaments section of your newpklack account dashboard. Each tournament entry shows the buy-in amount (in BDT), the total prize pool, the number of registered players, and the scheduled start time in Bangladesh Standard Time (BST, UTC+6). To register, click the Join Tournament button on the relevant listing and confirm the buy-in deduction from your wallet balance. Seats are limited and fill quickly for high-prize events, so early registration is recommended.

newpklack is strictly an 18+ platform. All players must be aged 18 years or older to register an account, make a deposit, or participate in any real-money game including Callbreak Quick. During the KYC identity verification process, newpklack requires a valid national ID, passport, or birth certificate to confirm your date of birth. Accounts found to belong to individuals under 18 are permanently closed and any balance is forfeited in accordance with our Terms & Conditions.
